Interactive Fun: Playing Netflix’s Party Games on Your TV and iPhone
Netflix has introduced a new feature that turns your smartphone into a game controller for its upcoming multiplayer party games. According to Netflix, this new way of playing games is as simple as streaming a show on a Friday night, requiring only Netflix and your phone.
Five new titles will be added to the service soon at no extra cost. Players can use their iPhone or Android phone as a controller to compete with others in the room or play solo. The upcoming games include:
-
- LEGO® Party! – A LEGO party game where players compete in minigames and search for gold in Challenge Zones.
-
- Boggle Party – A word search game where players race against the clock to find words in a jumbled letter grid.
-
- Pictionary: Game Night – A fast-paced drawing game based on the classic Pictionary board game.
-
- Tetris Time Warp – A time-traveling Tetris game that takes players through different eras of the popular puzzle game.
-
- Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends – A party game where players try to unmask the “crasher” who has no idea what others are talking about.
While Netflix already offers games under the “Mobile Games” tab on its homepage, including titles like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Farming Simulator 23, these new additions mark the platform’s first foray into social party games. These games will also allow players to use their smartphones as controllers for TV gameplay, although device support, including Apple TV, has not been confirmed yet.
Netflix’s co-CEO Gregory K. Peters has expressed excitement about the company’s plans for cooperative gaming, comparing it to traditional family board game nights or TV game shows. The upcoming multiplayer games aim to provide a new and exciting experience for Netflix users to enjoy with their friends and family.
With the holiday season approaching, many users may find themselves trying out these new Netflix games with their loved ones. Whether you’re already a gamer on Netflix or new to the platform, these multiplayer games are worth checking out for a fun and competitive experience. Get ready to redefine family game nights in the digital age with Netflix!
