iOS 26 beta 7 now available

Apple has recently unveiled the seventh developer beta version of iOS 26, hinting at an imminent official launch of the revamped iPhone software in approximately a month.

The upcoming iPhone software update, iOS 26, promises a striking new design, enhanced Apple Intelligence capabilities, innovative ways to stay connected through the Phone and Messages apps, and exciting updates to CarPlay, Apple Music, Maps, and Wallet.

In the earlier versions of iOS 26 beta, such as beta 2, notable design enhancements were introduced, including improved legibility for Control Center, revamped menu organization in Safari, and enhanced accessibility options with the addition of borders to High Contrast Mode.

Subsequent updates, like iOS 26 beta 3, introduced opaqueness to some of the previously transparent tab bars, alongside new wallpaper color options. However, beta 4 reversed these opaqueness tweaks. Meanwhile, Notification Center still retains absolute transparency when pulled down until fully open, a feature that may see modifications in the future.

iOS 26 beta 4 also brought back notification summaries for news and entertainment apps after a temporary pause due to complaints about text summaries altering the original headline meanings.

Addressing user feedback, iOS 26 beta 5 reinstated the Select button in Mail, added a toggle to revert back to the classic Camera mode swipe direction, and implemented other user-requested changes.

As for iOS 26 beta 6, it removed the Camera swipe direction toggle, introduced faster animations, new ringtones, and various other updates.

For users pondering if their iPhones are compatible with iOS 26, it is essential to note that the next major software update will run on iPhone SE (2nd generation) and iPhone 11 models or newer. iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max will not support iOS 26, with iOS 18 being the last version for these models. Devices supporting Apple Intelligence features include iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and any iPhone 16 family model.
