Lenovo’s Auto Twist laptop is going from concept to real product

Lenovo Unveils Innovative ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist Laptop at CES 2026

Lenovo has introduced an exciting new addition to its lineup with the announcement of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist laptop at CES 2026. This 14-inch thin-and-light laptop features a motorized pivoting hinge that allows the screen to twist and angle towards the user. One of the standout features of this device is its ability to automatically adjust its position based on the user’s head movement and posture, making it a truly unique and innovative product in the market. Users can also manually control the screen angle, but the real magic happens when the laptop autonomously tracks the user’s movements, following them around a room during a presentation. Additionally, a simple knock on the closed lid will prompt the laptop to open automatically, adding a touch of convenience to its functionality.

AI Companion Software and Live Language Translation

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist comes equipped with an emoji-like AI companion software that bears resemblance to GERTY from the 2009 sci-fi film “Moon.” This software interacts with the user by following their movements and reacting to their actions, such as waving or putting on sunglasses. While these features may seem charming initially, there were some concerns raised about the software’s loading speed and usability over time. Furthermore, the laptop supports live language translation, allowing the screen to switch back and forth between speakers during a conversation or presentation.

Technical Specifications and Pricing

In terms of traditional laptop features, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist boasts a 2880 x 1800 resolution OLED touchscreen with stylus support and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Weighing at 3.09 pounds (1.4 kg) and powered by Intel Panther Lake chips, this laptop is set to hit the market in June with a starting price of $1,649, offering a blend of cutting-edge technology and user-friendly design.
