London Phone Thieves’ Preference for iPhones Over Samsung Galaxy Phones
Summing It Up
- Reports suggest that London thieves have a preference for iPhones
- Instances of Samsung Galaxy phones being returned
- iPhones maintaining their value in the market
Recent incidents in London shed light on the favoritism towards iPhones among phone thieves, leaving Samsung Galaxy users pondering their luck.
According to a piece in London Centric (via Sammobile), there is a clear pattern in the types of smartphones targeted by criminals in the UK capital.
A 32-year-old London resident found himself surrounded by a group of thieves in South London. After surrendering all his possessions, including a camera and a hat, one thief handed back his phone, citing, “Don’t want no Samsung.”
Surprisingly, the stolen hat seemed more valuable than the phone itself. Ouch.

Spurned by an E-Bike Thief
This incident is not an anomaly, as multiple Android users have reported similar experiences of brand rejection.
Another Android user had their Samsung Galaxy phone snatched by a young man on an e-bike, only to witness the thief discard the phone on the ground. The phone was recovered, but the sense of rejection lingered.
The stolen phone market proves lucrative, with Apple’s premium phones holding more value than Samsung’s, despite similar pricing.
Surprisingly, the conclusion drawn is to opt for a Samsung Galaxy if you wish to deter thieves from targeting your phone.
This trend also raises questions about Steve Jobs’s ‘reality distortion field,’ showcasing Apple’s perceived superiority even to London’s petty criminals.
