Best Prices Today: Luna Ring Gen 2
The Luna Ring Gen 2 is another subscription-free smart ring that wants to eat into the sales of the Oura Ring 4 and Samsung Galaxy Ring.
India-based Noise’s second-generation Luna turns to AI in an attempt to stand out from the growing number of connected rings. It uses machine learning to offer advice on workouts and help you make better nutrition decisions.
While the number of smart rings available is still relatively small, there are already some strong subscription-free options out there. Does the Luna Ring Gen 2 make a strong enough case to be another one you should put on your finger?
Here’s how things played out when I slipped on the Luna Ring Gen 2.
Design & Build
- Available in five colour finishes
- Comes with portable charging case or a dock
- Waterproof up to 50 metres
The Luna Ring Gen 2 has a design that is reminiscent of many other smart rings. It is primarily made of titanium, with a non-allergenic inner molding where the sensor bump is located.
The sensor array, although not uncomfortable, fits snugly on the underside of the finger.

There are five color options available – Stardust Silver, Lunar Black, Sunlit Gold, Midnight Black, and Rose Gold. The Sunlight Gold model, which I tested, has acquired some minor scratches during testing. The titanium’s ripple effect helps give it a distinctive appearance to differentiate it from other smart rings.
If you are unsure of the fit, a free sizing kit is available. I have found that sticking to the same size as other smart rings has provided me with a good fit overall.

How you choose to charge the Luna Ring will impact how much you pay for the ring overall. The more expensive option is to purchase it with the attractive portable charging case. Alternatively, you can opt for the dock charger to save some money (detailed pricing is below).
If you want to take it for a swim, the 5ATM-rated design allows it to survive submerged in water up to 50 meters. I have worn it in the shower, pool, and heavy downpours, and the Luna has withstood all of those scenarios.
Fitness & Tracking
- Tracks step, sleep, heart rate, and stress
- Free Luna app available for iOS and Android
- LifeOS insights and guidance
The Luna Ring Gen 2 employs standard smart ring sensors to monitor your data, including continuous heart rate and daily step counts. It features a green optical sensor for heart rate tracking, a red one for blood oxygen monitoring, and a skin temperature sensor. Movement tracking is handled by a 3-axis accelerometer.

Data is stored in the Luna app, which features a stylish interface that breaks down daily totals, sleep, readiness scores, activity tracking, and Luna AI features.
For sleep tracking, I have compared it with the Oura Ring 4, and the data regarding sleep duration, sleep stages, and restorative sleep were quite similar. In addition to core sleep statistics, the app also provides insights into hitting recommended sleep goals and achieving sufficient restorative sleep.
Readiness, another metric adopted by other smart rings, analyzes metrics like heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature. The readiness scores were similar to those captured by an Oura Ring 4.
The app presents summaries of readiness data to help users better understand the implications of their scores. However, heart rate readings were slightly inflated, making it less accurate for heart rate tracking.

Activity tracking includes daily step totals, distance covered, calories burned, and contributing factors to the overall activity score. The daily step totals align closely with other fitness trackers.
Manual workout tracking is available, along with automatic workout recognition for runners and walkers, which has proven reliable in testing.
Luna AI serves as a hub to explore tracked metrics, set up workout and diet plans, and offers a daily digest feature summarizing key data points. The generation of workout and diet plans currently lacks personalization and may not be compelling to use.
Battery Life & Charging
- Up to 5 days battery life
- Charging case offers 30 days battery
- Fully charges in 120 minutes
The Luna Ring typically lasts 5-6 days on a single charge, meeting the manufacturer’s claims. Notifications from the app alert users when the battery is low to prevent unexpected power loss.
