Manhart’s Upgraded BMW X6 xDrive40i: A Closer Look

Manhart has built a reputation for enhancing BMW M cars, but their latest project focuses on the X6 xDrive40i, a departure from the brand’s high-performance models. Despite not carrying the iconic “M” badge, this X6 undergoes a transformation that propels it into a new realm of power and style.

The customization process, known as the “MHX6 500” package, begins with modifications to the turbocharged inline-six engine. By equipping the BMW B58 engine with an MHtronik powerbox and a stainless steel exhaust system, Manhart boosts the output to 473 horsepower and 630 Newton-meters (465 pound-feet) of torque. While it may not reach the levels of an M Performance variant, this upgraded X6 is now closer in performance to the potent M60i with its V8 engine.

Although precise performance figures are undisclosed, the enhanced X6 xDrive40i is expected to deliver impressive acceleration. Estimates suggest a sprint time of around 5 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) dash, an improvement over the standard model’s 5.4-second time.

The visual impact of the upgraded xDrive40i is equally striking. Manhart’s custom exhaust system, featuring quad 100-mm tips, gives the SUV a more aggressive appearance reminiscent of higher-tier M models. Complemented by a comprehensive body kit with carbon fiber elements, the X6 exudes a sportier and more dynamic aesthetic.

In addition to the exterior enhancements, the X6 receives a set of Manhart-designed 22-inch wheels finished in matte black, wrapped in 295/30 front and 335/25 rear tires. While the vehicle showcased retains the standard brakes, optional upgraded brakes are available upon request.

Inside, subtle yet distinctive touches enhance the cabin. Carbon fiber accents adorn the steering wheel spokes and shift paddles, while custom floor mats proudly display the Manhart logo. The BMW emblem has been replaced with the tuner’s branding, further emphasizing the bespoke nature of this modified X6.

For those anticipating a new generation of the X6, the “G67” is anticipated to debut in 2028, potentially introducing the first all-electric iX6 variant. Until then, Manhart’s enhanced xDrive40i offers a compelling blend of performance and style for BMW enthusiasts.
