Tribute Games has recently rolled out a significant update for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, focusing primarily on bug fixes. The development team has worked diligently to address various issues within the game to enhance the overall player experience. Some key improvements in this patch include resolving a bug that caused the game to crash during multiplayer sessions, fixing an issue where Super Heroes’ stats would not upgrade, and ensuring that Master Mold is no longer invincible. Bug Fixes!

  • Camera Shake Issue– Fixed a problem where disabling camera shake effects would prevent the cinematic from triggering, causing Super Heroes to be stuck in Stage 13
  • Multiplayer Stability– Resolved an issue where joining a multiplayer game session and resetting story progress would lead to a crash
  • Master Mold Challenge– Addressed a bug where Master Mold would become invulnerable and untargetable, disrupting gameplay
  • Venom Troubleshooting– Fixed issues with Venom getting frozen after a parry during Symbiote Pounce or losing armor too quickly during Venom Bite
  • Stat Upgrade Bug– Rectified an issue where Super Heroes’ stats did not upgrade after leveling up without returning to the main menu
  • Enemy Damage Adjustment– Fixed an issue where enemies dealt unusually high damage on their first hit during a grab
  • Annihilus Vulnerability– Corrected issues where Annihilus would not enter the staggered/vulnerable state, preventing players from dealing damage
  • Hela Teleport Fix– Resolved an issue where Hela could experience synchronization issues while teleporting
  • Annihilus Attack Adjustments– Fixed an issue where Annihilus would continue attacking after the shield breaks
  • Multiplayer Connection Enhancement– Improved connectivity when the host disconnects while Super Heroes are joining a lobby, redirecting players to the multiplayer menu
  • She-Hulk Controller Setting– Added an option for controller shake to occur only for players controlling She-Hulk, enhancing gameplay experience
  • Respawn Glitch Fix– Resolved an issue where Super Heroes would occasionally be swapped when respawning, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience
  • Credit Distribution Improvement– Adjusted the instigator criteria to credit the character who threw the enemy for knocking down an assembly line bomb
  • Lobby Stability Enhancement– Implemented additional measures to ensure lobby stability when players reach Game Over in Arcade Mode
  • Vampire Modifier Fix– Resolved an issue preventing Super Heroes from using the Vampire modifier in Arcade Mode
  • Character Selection Improvement– Fixed character order issues in character select for Steam Deck and Linux, addressing online desynchronization and crashes between different versions

  • Fixed a scenario where intro music played instead of main stage music for late joiners in Stage 2 (Genosha)
  • Adjusted MODOK’s movement and behaviors for smoother gameplay (multiple fixes applied)
  • Tweaked Beta Ray Bill’s no-hammer attack to prevent it from registering as a multi-attack
  • Fixed an issue where certain enemies performed multiple hits instead of a single attack
  • Corrected enemy movement issues where they appeared to walk without actual movement
  • Adjusted visuals to prevent the OK/Back popup from appearing during fade-out transitions
  • Aligned Negative Blast to face the center of the screen automatically
  • Ensured proper animation for worm enemies when turning to face their targets
  • Fixed the Mission Select timer to count down accurately in Arcade Mode
  • Resolved an issue where players could spawn in a pit immediately upon joining a mid-session lobby
  • Prevented character selection cancellation from resetting the selected skin
  • Fixed visual glitches during tally and post-boss cutscenes for a more immersive experience
  • Addressed the issue of Super Heroes appearing multiple times when facing Annihilus
  • Corrected an animation error for Annihilus following the Negative Wave attack
  • Fixed instances where egg spawners did not appear in the correct state
  • Resolved excessive damage and multiple attacks from Bug Barricade
  • Fixed online synchronization issues related to Sentry Laser and Statue
  • Corrected minor graphical shadow errors for improved visual quality
  • Addressed a challenge completion issue related to multi-hit tasks for smoother gameplay progression

In a review of Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Ade commented, “Having thoroughly enjoyed Tribute Games’ previous title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, I had high hopes for Marvel Cosmic Invasion. However, while the game is decent, it falls short of being truly exceptional.”
