A New Closed Beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Announced

A second closed beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been revealed, set to launch on December 5, 2025, at midnight Pacific Time. The beta will run until December 7 at 11:59 PM, offering players the opportunity to engage in battles both online and with CPU opponents on the 5th and 6th of December, with online battles exclusively available on the 7th.

New Characters and Stages Added

The upcoming closed beta will introduce two new playable characters, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider, joining the six characters from the first beta: Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Storm, Captain America, and Star-Lord. Additionally, two new stages, Savage Land and the X-Mansion, have been included in the beta. Players will also have access to a communal space for interaction and the ability to spectate games.

Kazuto Sekine, Game Director and Lead Battle Designer, mentions, “Based on feedback from the previous closed beta, we have made various improvements such as balance adjustments, performance optimizations, visual enhancements, and user experience upgrades. More details will be revealed as we approach the beta test date.”

Gameplay Features and Collaborations

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a tag fighter with a unique 4v4 system, providing players with different strategies to approach battles. Players can choose to use one fighter with the remaining three as assists or switch between characters to explore their distinct styles.

The game is a collaborative effort between Sony, Marvel, and Arc System Works, renowned for their development of popular fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive.

Reflecting on the success of Dragon Ball FighterZ, known for its diverse roster and exceptional presentation, it is anticipated that Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will follow suit.
