Konami recently rolled out an update for Metal Gear Solid Fox Hunt, their latest multiplayer game, introducing several adjustments and a highly requested feature.

The most notable change in this update is the enhancement of the matchmaking system. Previously, players had to manually select their region, leading to potential delays in finding matches. Now, the game automatically expands the search to all regions if matchmaking takes too long.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Fox Hunt patch 1.2.3 is now available for download on all platforms, requiring installation to access the game. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes implemented.

Metal Gear Solid Fox Hunt Update 1.2.3 Patch Notes

  • Players can now mark enemy locations while aiming with a knife or gun.
  • XP can be earned in custom matches.
  • Cross-region matchmaking is now enabled when local server matchmaking takes too long.
  • Increased invincibility duration after respawning.
  • Resolved a bug where invincibility after respawn could be canceled by certain actions.
  • Various minor bug fixes and adjustments.

Fox Hunt was launched on October 30th as part of the Snake Eater remake. In our evaluation, we rated the multiplayer mode a solid 8/10, stating:

“Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s Fox Hunt multiplayer mode completes one of the top remakes of 2025. It presents a compelling twist on existing battle royale and extraction shooter concepts, with its smaller maps and quicker match times effectively integrating stealth and strategy elements that fans appreciate.”

While we praised the game, we also acknowledged its limited content at launch, featuring two modes and a few maps. Despite this, the minimalistic approach adds to Fox Hunt’s appeal, though the absence of a clear roadmap for future updates raises some concerns. Hopefully, Konami will provide more information soon.
