The Rise of Terra Industries: A Game-Changer in African Defensetech

Recently, Terra Industries, an African defensetech company, made headlines by securing an impressive $22 million in funding. Led by Lux Capital, this funding round comes just a month after an $11.75 million investment led by Joe Lonsdale’s 8VC.

Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku, 22, and Maxwell Maduka, 24, Terra Industries aims to revolutionize infrastructure and autonomous systems to enhance security measures across African nations.

With terrorism posing a significant threat in Africa, Terra Industries is on a mission to develop autonomous defense systems to safeguard critical infrastructure and resources. CEO Nwachuku envisions building “Africa’s first defense prime” to combat armed attacks effectively.

Having secured its first federal contract, Terra Industries has already generated over $2.5 million in commercial revenue and is protecting assets worth approximately $11 billion. The company boasts a diverse clientele, including government and commercial entities.

The recent funding boost was fueled by the company’s rapid growth and strong momentum. Besides Lux Capital, investors such as 8VC, Nova Global, and Resiliience17 Capital (founded by Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola) contributed to the funding round, which totaled $34 million.
