New Chromebooks will include a year of Nvidia’s cloud gaming Fast Pass

Nvidia and Google Collaborate to Introduce New Cloud Gaming Plan for Chromebooks

Nvidia has joined forces with Google to unveil an exclusive cloud gaming service tailored for Chromebook users. The new offering, known as GeForce Now Fast Pass, enables Chromebook owners to seamlessly stream over 2,000 games directly from their existing PC game library, devoid of any advertisements. Furthermore, individuals purchasing a new Chromebook will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the service.

Fast Pass vs. Existing Plans

GeForce Now Fast Pass bears similarities to the platform’s current free plan, offering access to an extensive selection of “Ready-to-Play” titles from Steam, Epic, and Xbox libraries. However, Fast Pass distinguishes itself by being ad-free and allowing users to bypass queues, eliminating the typical two-minute wait associated with the free plan.

Usage Restrictions and Additional Features

Fast Pass users are capped at 10 hours of cloud gaming monthly, with the flexibility to carry over up to five unused hours to the subsequent month. Nvidia’s premium plans, starting at $9.99 per month, offer enhanced features such as higher resolutions, faster frame rates, RTX ray-tracing, and a more extensive game library encompassing “Install-to-Play” titles that necessitate installation on Nvidia’s servers.

Incentives for Chromebook Purchases

Google has announced that individuals buying a new Chromebook will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to GeForce Now Fast Pass. The pricing structure for Fast Pass beyond this promotional offer has not been disclosed by the companies.
