Nintendo user agreement tweak threatens to brick your Switch 2 and Nintendo Account if you mod or use "unauthorized" games

Nintendo has revealed its sales projections for the launch of the highly anticipated Switch 2, with analysts suggesting that the company may have taken a cautious approach. Despite this, Nintendo is still expecting impressive numbers for its latest console. The company’s president has even hinted at the possibility of a price increase for the console, depending on the outcome of the US tariff situation.

The sales forecast is part of Nintendo’s outlook for the upcoming fiscal year, ending in March 2026. The company is aiming for 15 million units to be sold during the launch window, along with 45 million games. This target surpasses the performance of the original Switch, which sold 14.87 million units in its debut year.

However, many analysts believe that Nintendo’s projections are on the conservative side due to the uncertainty surrounding US tariffs. Daniel Ahmad, an analyst from Niko Partners, expressed his views on Twitter, stating that Nintendo’s forecast is cautious given the current circumstances. He also mentioned that the industry’s forecast was already considered conservative, indicating that Nintendo may adjust its projections if the tariff situation changes.

Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has acknowledged the potential impact of tariffs on the Switch 2’s pricing. He mentioned that if the assumptions regarding tariffs change significantly, the company will consider price adjustments based on various factors.

Fans have been vocal about their desire for Nintendo to lower the price of the Switch 2. If tariffs lead to a price increase, it could stir up even more controversy among consumers. Are you excited about the upcoming Switch 2 release? Share your thoughts below.
