Armatus is a third person roguelite set in a Paris filled with demons

The Announcement of Armatus: A New Game from Fictions and Counterplay Games

Fictions and Counterplay Games, the developers behind Godfall, have recently unveiled their latest project – a thrilling third-person roguelite game titled Armatus. Set in the demon-infested streets of Paris, this upcoming game made its debut during the Xbox Partner Preview event. Excitingly, Armatus has been confirmed for release on PC, PS5, and the highly anticipated Switch 2, with the added bonus of being available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Armatus immerses players in the shoes of a mysterious warrior, summoned to protect a group of individuals abandoned on Earth after the opening of the veil. In this post-apocalyptic setting, only the chosen few were whisked away, leaving the rest vulnerable to the demonic forces that now roam the streets of Paris. As the unnamed warrior embarks on a perilous journey to combat these otherworldly creatures, they must confront death repeatedly in their quest for answers.

“With Armatus, we aimed to blend modern firearms and supernatural abilities, complemented by a touch of melee combat,” explained Ming Zhang, the Studio Head at Counterplay Games. “By offering dynamic build choices for each playthrough, we have crafted a frenetic and hyperkinetic combat system that truly defines our gameplay experience.”

“Collaborating with Ming and the talented team at Counterplay Games to bring Armatus to life has been an exhilarating journey,” remarked Kelsey Hansen, the Producer at Fictions. “This game delivers intense, fast-paced combat that feels incredibly satisfying. We are eagerly anticipating its launch in 2026.”

Scheduled for release in 2026, Armatus promises an action-packed gaming experience that combines strategic decision-making with adrenaline-fueled battles. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated title.
