Pixelsnap Stand vs. Nomad Stand One: A Standoff of Superiority
For years, the one feature that kept me loyal to iPhones over Android devices was MagSafe. While Android phones could replicate this with magnetic cases, the sacrifice was often slower charging speeds and overheating batteries. However, with the introduction of Qi2-powered Pixelsnap technology on the latest Pixel 10 phones, Google has finally brought magnetic wireless charging to the Android platform. Nomad’s Stand One emerges as a top accessory to fully experience this innovation.
Upon setting up my Pixel 10 Pro, I was eager to place it on a magnetic stand on my desk, reminiscent of how I’ve done with my iPhone for years. The Pixelsnap Stand by Google seemed like the obvious choice initially, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Priced at £64.99/$69.99, the design left much to be desired.

The exterior of the Pixelsnap Stand, resembling silicon, easily attracts dirt. Additionally, despite the tech being housed inside the removable puck, the setup weighs a surprising 405g. In contrast, the Nomad Stand One, known for its aesthetic appeal, now offers a Qi2 variant that addresses these shortcomings.
Why the Nomad Stand One is the best Pixel 10 accessory
The revamped Stand One overcomes the issues observed with Google’s stand. Crafted from glass and metal, it exudes a sleek and polished look, unlike its predecessor. The weight distribution across the body ensures stability, preventing any wobbling or tipping when interacting with the screen. Despite the premium materials, the Stand One’s weight only slightly increases to 575g.
An added advantage of the Stand One is its base, which doubles as a 5W wireless charging pad. This feature allows users to conveniently charge smaller accessories like wireless earbuds alongside their phone. It’s common to find both the Pixel 10 and Pixel Buds Pro resting on the Stand One simultaneously.

The Stand One’s design allows the Qi puck to protrude from the chassis, aiding in better heat dissipation and preventing uncomfortable warmth, a common issue with the Pixelsnap Stand. The inclusion of a 2m braided cable further enhances its appeal.
While the Stand One boasts a robust design, its stand’s angle is fixed at 21 degrees, lacking adjustability. However, this angle proves ideal for various scenarios, including video calls.

The Stand One supports both Qi2 and MagSafe technology, enabling it to charge compatible phones at speeds of up to 25W when paired with a 40W adapter (not included). This capability eliminates concerns about overheating during wireless charging, a common issue with some devices. Users with an Apple Watch can opt for the larger 3-in-1 Stand One Max for added convenience.
In conclusion, the Nomad Stand One surpasses Google’s Pixelsnap Stand as the superior accessory for the Pixel 10. Priced at £99/$119, it may be slightly more expensive but offers exceptional value for the investment.
