Porsche Introduces High-Performance Cayenne S Electric with 657-HP
Porsche has recently introduced another addition to its upcoming electric vehicle lineup, the Porsche Cayenne S Electric. Positioned between the base Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Turbo, this new SUV showcases Porsche’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings.
The Cayenne S Electric is a mid-level trim powered by dual-motor all-wheel drive, delivering 536 horsepower in regular driving mode and a temporary boost to 657 hp with launch control engaged. With impressive acceleration capabilities, the SUV can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph, firmly establishing its place in the luxury performance SUV segment.
Equipped with a substantial 108-kWh battery pack, the Cayenne S Electric supports fast charging rates of up to 400 kW, allowing for rapid charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in under 16 minutes when using a DC fast charger. While official EPA estimated range figures are pending, Consumer Reports estimates a range of approximately 320 miles for this electrified SUV.
Externally, the Cayenne S Electric boasts unique features such as standard front and rear fascia cladding in Volcano Grey Metallic color and 20-inch aero wheels specific to the Cayenne. Buyers can choose from 13 different exterior paint options to personalize their vehicle.
Optional features for customers include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and Porsche Active Ride adaptive suspension, enhancing handling and reducing body roll. Additionally, yellow ceramic composite brakes are available as an option. The Sport Chrono package adds Porsche’s “Push-to-Pass” acceleration boosting system, providing an extra 120 hp for brief bursts of increased speed, known as Drifting Mode.
Porsche is set to introduce an Interior Style package across the Cayenne Electric line, featuring black and Delgada Green upholstery with Mystic Green Metallic paint on the exterior. Green trim accents are incorporated into the seats, seat belts, doors, and stitching throughout the interior, with the Porsche logo embroidered on the headrests.
Starting at $128,650, the Cayenne S Electric is expected to begin deliveries towards the end of summer, offering a premium electric SUV option for discerning customers.
