Huntdown: Overtime builds upon the adrenaline-pumping action of its predecessor, adding a roguelite twist to the gameplay. Players will step into the shoes of cybernetically-enhanced bounty hunter John Sawyer as he takes on a relentless onslaught of targets, pushing the boundaries of his cybernetic enhancements with each run. The game promises to unveil Sawyer’s origin story, transforming him from a man with killer instincts to a formidable force of destruction.
“With Huntdown: Overtime, we aimed to capture the exhilarating gunplay of classic action movies like those starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as modern hits like John Wick,” said Tommy Gustafsson, the art director at Easy Trigger Games. “We’ve added a diverse arsenal of weapons, cybernetic upgrades that reshape gameplay, and a roguelite loop to keep players engaged. Our goal is to deliver a gaming experience that channels the badass spirit of 80s cinema while offering endless replayability.”
The game boasts multiple paths through gang territories and wastelands, offering a variety of weapons ranging from fists to futuristic firearms. Players can expect to wield flamethrowers, miniguns, and advanced beam weapons as they ascend the ranks of killer toasters in the cyberpunk world of Huntdown: Overtime.
Journalist Adam Smith praised the original Huntdown, noting its attention to detail and nostalgic charm. “Huntdown taps into that retro gaming nostalgia while offering a level of sophistication that sets it apart from its predecessors,” he remarked.
Anticipated for early access release in Q2 2026, Huntdown: Overtime is scheduled to launch between April 1st and June 30th. Players can add the game to their Steam wishlist for future updates and notifications.
