Sprawl Zero announced and it's looking to bring back the vibe of early 2000s FPS

Maeth Announces Prequel to Hardcore FPS Sprawl: Sprawl Zero

Maeth has recently revealed the upcoming prequel to its popular hardcore first-person shooter, Sprawl, with the exciting new entry titled Sprawl Zero. Drawing inspiration from the first-person shooters of the early 2000s, Sprawl Zero promises to deliver a nostalgic look and feel for fans of the genre. In the original Sprawl game, players assumed the role of Seven, a special ops super soldier battling against the Junta. However, in Sprawl Zero, players will step into the cybernetically enhanced shoes of Five, a supersoldier aligned with the Junta on a dangerous mission to eliminate Silas, the leader of the techno-religious group IMAGO-DEI.

The announcement trailer for Sprawl Zero showcases Maeth’s dedication to capturing the essence of classic FPS gameplay from decades past. As Five, players will have access to a vast arsenal of 40 weapons, including Gravity Gloves and a Gravity Shield that can be used to deflect enemy projectiles. The game features dynamic enemy AI that will cooperate to thwart Five’s progress, but clever level design offers multiple pathways for players to outmaneuver their adversaries. With various enemy factions and types to contend with on the hunt for Silas, players must adapt their combat strategies to overcome different threats. Additionally, Sprawl Zero will boast an original soundtrack inspired by the iconic games that influence its gameplay.

While an official release date for Sprawl Zero is yet to be confirmed, the game is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series XS platforms.
