Revamped ChatGPT: Elevating the Temporary Chat Experience

Published

on

OpenAI is currently conducting trials on a significant enhancement for ChatGPT’s temporary chat feature. This update will enable users to maintain personalization in temporary chats while preventing them from impacting their accounts.

Temporary Chat in ChatGPT is a mode where users begin with a clean slate, devoid of any past conversations or saved memories being referenced by the AI. Even if memory is typically enabled, ChatGPT will not use previous interactions or memories in this mode, treating the conversation as “don’t remember this.”

Temporary Chats do not appear in your chat history and are not used for model improvement purposes.

Recent observations revealed that following a new update, ChatGPT’s temporary chat now retains personalization features such as memory, chat history, style, and tone preferences.

Although the chat remains temporary, it now has access to personalization options that can be disabled.

For security reasons, OpenAI may retain a copy of the chat for up to 30 days.

To initiate a temporary chat, users can open a new chat and click on the pill-shaped “Temporary” button in the top-right corner.

Other Enhancements in ChatGPT

OpenAI recently introduced the ChatGPT Age prediction model, which analyzes a user’s age based on chat patterns, conversation behavior, and other factors.

OpenAI cautions that while its AI model is not flawless, it may mistakenly identify adult users as teenagers and restrict their accounts. Conversely, it could be deceived by teenagers exhibiting adult-like behavior.

Restricted accounts can still engage in learning, content creation, and asking questions but will have limitations on certain topics like violence, gore, and viral challenges on platforms resembling TikTok.

In cases of incorrect restrictions, adult users can verify their age to unlock the complete GPT experience.
