Revolutionizing Photography: iPhone 19 Pro Set to Unleash 200MP Camera Upgrade

Apple is reportedly exploring the addition of a 200Mp camera to a future iPhone to rival top Android devices.

In a recent post on China’s Weibo network, reliable sources from the supply chain suggest that Apple is evaluating a 200Mp, 1/1.12-inch sensor for a potential future iPhone main camera.

The same sensor is expected to be used in the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra, known as the Sony LYT-901.

Samsung’s move

If true, this development would put the pressure on Samsung. While Samsung was an early adopter of the 200Mp main camera, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features the same 200Mp sensor as previous models.

This sensor is smaller at 1/1.3 inches compared to the Sony LYT-901, potentially impacting light capture and overall performance.

Rumors suggest that Apple could release a phone with this new sensor next year, potentially the iPhone 19 Pro, giving Samsung the chance to respond with a larger main camera sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra.
