New Funding Raised by Twitter and Pinterest Co-Founders for Social Media Startup West Co

In a recent development, Biz Stone, the co-founder of Twitter, and Evan Sharp, the co-founder of Pinterest, have successfully secured new funding for their latest venture, the social media startup West Co.

The startup made its entry into the market with an exclusive invite-only release of its debut app, Tangle, back in November. As per reports from the Financial Times, additional insights have been gathered from statements made by Stone and Sharp, along with information from regulatory documents and job postings.

According to sources, the company has managed to raise a substantial amount of $29 million, with Spark Capital taking the lead in its seed funding round.

Evan Sharp, serving as the CEO of West Co, articulated the company’s vision as a response to the profound impact on mental and emotional well-being over the past decade and a half. He pondered on the question, “What could I build that might help address just some of the terrible devastation of the human mind and heart that we’ve wrought the last 15 years?”

The company’s initial offering, an app designed to prompt users to contemplate their daily intentions, aims to foster a sense of purpose and mindfulness. By encouraging users to share their aspirations with friends, the app seeks to assist individuals in planning thoughtfully, capturing the essence of their daily experiences, and recognizing the underlying patterns that shape their lives.

Biz Stone hinted at potential transformations in the app’s functionality before its full-scale public launch, indicating a commitment to evolving the platform based on user feedback and market dynamics.
