Revolutionizing the Road: Toyota’s Cutting-Edge Concepts for the Future Corolla

Toyota Unveils New Concept Cars and Future Plans
Toyota recently showcased a range of new concept cars from its various brands as part of a presentation outlining the company’s future direction. Among the highlights was the announcement that Century will now serve as the flagship brand within the Toyota Group, marking a shift from its previous role as a luxury model line.
The lineup of concepts featured a sporty Century coupe-style SUV with forward-sliding doors, a compact Daihatsu city car, as well as several Toyota vehicles tailored for emerging markets. Unique additions included a six-wheeled electric people mover named the Lexus LS.
Notably, the LS concept represents a departure from its previous association with the top-tier Lexus limousine, signaling a new emphasis on luxury people movers over traditional sedans within the brand hierarchy.
During the presentation, Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda co-hosted the event and highlighted the distinction between the Lexus LM people mover, which is based on the Toyota Alphard, and the LS concept, which was specifically crafted for Lexus from the ground up.
Viewers were treated to glimpses of a new Toyota Corolla concept, featuring a modern design with squared-off front and rear ends, full-width LED light signatures, and a sleek cabin layout.
While many anticipated the debut of Toyota’s new twin-turbo V8 halo model, the presentation only offered a preview of the supercar’s engine noise. The event also showcased the Lexus LFA and Toyota GT as the pinnacle sports car offerings from the brand.
Toyota also introduced its latest slogan, ‘To You – Toyota,’ underscoring its commitment to providing exceptional automotive experiences to customers.
New Brand Hierarchy and Global Reach
As part of the presentation, Toyota unveiled a revised brand hierarchy, with Century positioned at the top, followed by Lexus, Gazoo Racing (the performance division), and Daihatsu as the entry-level brand. Toyota maintains a central position, bridging the gap between GR and Daihatsu.
The event included a film showcasing the popularity of Toyota vehicles worldwide, with a special focus on models in Australia. This global perspective underscores Toyota’s widespread appeal and impact in diverse markets.
The live-streamed presentation is seen as a prelude to the upcoming Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, scheduled from October 29 to November 9, where these innovative concepts are expected to make a significant impression.
