Samsung Galaxy Wearables Set to Revolutionize Health Monitoring
Samsung’s Wearable Devices to Detect Early Signs of Dementia
Samsung is currently developing technology that will allow its wearable devices to detect potential early signs of dementia.
During the recent First Look event at CES 2026, Samsung unveiled a groundbreaking development in the wearables sector.
The company announced that future wearable devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Galaxy Ring, will soon have the capability to monitor subtle changes in mobility, speech, and engagement that may indicate long-term cognitive changes.
According to Praveen Raja, Samsung’s Vice President and Head of Digital Health, the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring will be equipped to identify issues such as slurred speech during interactions with Samsung’s Bixby assistant.

Furthermore, these wearable devices will be capable of detecting slower movements by the user and analyzing their interactions with other smart home devices.
The primary goal of this technology is to provide early indications prompting users to seek medical assistance rather than serving as a definitive diagnosis.
Initial reports suggested that this functionality would fall under a new “Brain Health” feature currently in the final stages of development.
A source from South Korea’s Chosun Biz indicated that the feature may also incorporate brain training exercises designed to reduce the risk of dementia. Samsung Knox will ensure that any sensitive health data is kept secure locally rather than in the cloud.
