Samsung’s Game-Changing Galaxy S26 Qi2 Charger Revealed: The Ultimate Charging Solution
The upcoming release of Samsung’s flagship phones, the Galaxy S26 series, is just around the corner. However, early indications suggest that the new devices may not offer groundbreaking upgrades to get excited about.
Rumors point towards minor improvements in the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra models. One standout feature is the confirmed Privacy Screen, exclusive to the S26 Ultra.
One exciting addition across the lineup is the introduction of built-in Qi2 wireless charging, following the trend set by the Pixel 10 series.
Recently, the official 25W charger for the Galaxy S26 series was revealed, and it appears to be a high-quality product. As someone who has been skeptical about wireless charging, this accessory could persuade me to embrace the technology.
What the puck!
A leak from SamMobile provides details about the ‘Magnetic Wireless Charger,’ which is expected to deliver charging speeds of up to 25W.
This aligns with the rumored capabilities of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, representing a significant improvement over the 15W Qi wireless charging in its predecessor.
While the S26 and S26+ models are anticipated to support up to 20W charging, they will still be compatible with the Magnetic Wireless Charger. Older Samsung phones can also connect to the accessory, albeit at slower 15W speeds.
The charger features a braided cable with a plastic puck for secure attachment to the back of the phone. It comes with a USB-C cable designed to work with Samsung’s 45W charger, but it is also compatible with other Power Delivery chargers.
It remains unclear if the Magnetic Wireless Charger will be available in colors other than black. This may not be a concern for everyone, but some users might find it a bit monotonous.
The new default way to charge?
While 25W wireless charging may not be the fastest option available, the convenience of Qi2 technology is undeniable. The ability to have multiple chargers around the house for effortless phone charging could revolutionize the way we power our devices.
Although the rumored 60W wired charging for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is enticing for fast charging, the simplicity and ease of use offered by Qi2 charging could make it the preferred choice for many users.
Ultimately, the success of the Magnetic Wireless Charger will depend on its affordability. However, it has the potential to redefine how we charge our phones and could be a game-changer for users.
