Seamless File Sharing: Pixel 9 Joins AirDrop’s Ranks
Enhanced File Sharing Capabilities Between Pixel 9 and Apple Devices
Pixel 9 phone owners can now enjoy improved file sharing with Apple devices, similar to Pixel 10 phones. Sending and receiving files between a Pixel and an iPhone, Mac, or iPad is now seamless, appearing as AirDrop transfers on the Apple side and Quick Share on the Android side. To facilitate this process, both devices need to be discoverable, allowing for easy cross-platform sharing.
Pixel 9A Exclusion from AirDrop Support
Unfortunately, Pixel 9A owners will have to resort to traditional methods like plain Bluetooth for file transfers with Apple devices. Google has not provided a concrete reason for this exclusion but has expressed intentions to enhance the overall file sharing experience and possibly include the Pixel 9A in future updates. Despite this limitation, the AirDrop compatibility between Pixel 9 and Apple devices is expected to remain a long-term feature, ensuring seamless cross-platform sharing.
