New 2027 BMW 7 Series Teased Ahead of April Debut

In 2026, BMW is gearing up for an eventful year with the planned launch of several new products. Amongst the anticipated releases is a larger sedan, the 7 Series, with a facelift. The automaker has hinted at its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in China, scheduled from April 24 to May 3.

Another model set to undergo a mid-cycle facelift is the G70, which has been teased with images to build excitement. CEO Oliver Zipse, during BMW’s annual conference, discussed the upcoming i3 and the next generation X5, although details on the teased photos were scarce.

Spy photos of the 2027 7 Series reveal that it will maintain its iconic large kidney grille and split headlights with a thin upper strip LED. The new 7 Series shares similarities with the second-generation X7 prototype, set to launch the following year. While the G70 resembles the upcoming 7 Series, Zipse describes it as a distinctively new vehicle.

Although the new 7 Series may not fully embrace the Neue Klasse styling, significant interior changes are expected. The G70 is rumored to feature iDrive X, with a large central touchscreen and BMW’s Panoramic Vision, a wide display spanning the windshield base. Many details remain undisclosed until its official launch.

The 2027 7 Series will retain the current CLAR architecture and offer gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric i7 options with some modifications. Speculations suggest a new variant from the BMW Alpina sub-brand, yet details remain unknown.
