You can now use ChatGPT with Apple’s CarPlay

ChatGPT Now Available on CarPlay for iOS Users

Users with iOS 26.4 or newer can now access ChatGPT directly from their CarPlay dashboard, as per a report by 9to5Mac. The latest iOS update from Apple introduced support for “voice-based conversational apps” on CarPlay, allowing users to interact with AI chatbots using voice commands while on the go.

Unlike traditional text-based chat interfaces, using ChatGPT on CarPlay does not display text conversations, as mentioned by 9to5Mac. Instead, users can engage in conversations solely through voice interactions. Apple’s guidelines for developers prohibit the display of text or images as responses within the CarPlay app. However, users can still find on-screen buttons for muting or ending a conversation.

According to MacRumors, users also have the option to view a list of recent conversations they’ve had with ChatGPT. However, initiating a conversation with ChatGPT on CarPlay requires tapping on the app rather than using a wake word.

With the integration of ChatGPT on CarPlay, Apple continues to enhance the in-car user experience by enabling seamless voice interactions with AI chatbots. This update opens up new possibilities for hands-free communication while driving, improving safety and convenience for iOS users.
