Stay Cozy and Save: The Money-Saving Benefits of This Heated Throw
Why a Dreamland Heated Throw is the Best Purchase You’ll Make All Year
Last Black Friday, I made a single purchase that turned out to be the highlight of my year. This item has provided me with warmth and comfort every day since its arrival, saving me a significant amount of money along the way.
And no, it’s not a pet cat. Trust me, unless you enjoy being woken up at 4am by claws, that’s not a recommended purchase. But what I did buy was a plug-in Dreamland heated throw, which I managed to snag at a discount. Even now, its price remains as low as it was during the Black Friday sale.
The original price of this Dreamland heated throw is £94.99, but you can purchase it directly from Dreamland for £59.99. While it’s also available on Amazon, the current price there is £69.99.
My personal choice was the mustard velvet with a chevron pattern, but there are various materials and designs to choose from on different online platforms.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, Currys offers a plain velvet version in black or pink for £39.99. Additionally, Dreamland’s Amazon store has a wide selection, including faux fur and even a Stranger Things-branded blanket.
Energy Efficiency and Comfort
The Dreamland heated throw operates at 150W, costing me a maximum of 4p per hour on my current energy tariff. However, due to its low setting, the actual energy consumption is likely much lower. In fact, I was able to request a refund from my energy supplier in January, as my winter energy usage was significantly lower than their initial estimate.
The blanket boasts “Intelliheat” technology, which ensures it remains responsive and adjusts to your body temperature. With six heat settings, even on the coldest days, I rarely need to turn it past level three. The built-in timer for one, three, or nine hours provides added convenience and peace of mind.
The control pad is user-friendly, featuring buttons for temperature and timer settings, as well as a power switch. For easy cleaning, the controller, cable, and plug can be detached from the blanket. Plus, it’s safe to tumble dry, although I haven’t personally tested this feature.
Safety and Warranty
Rest assured, Dreamland’s heated blankets undergo Kema-Keur safety testing, ensuring compliance with European safety standards for low-voltage electrical products. Additionally, the product comes with a generous two-year warranty for added peace of mind.
Conclusion
If you’re looking to stay warm and cozy until spring arrives, investing in a Dreamland heated throw is a smart choice. For more heating options, check out our roundup of the best portable and plug-in heaters we’ve put to the test.
