Publishers Announce Delay in Subliminal: Episode 1 Release

A recent update from publishers Gone-Shootin and InfiniFun has shed light on the progress of Subliminal: Episode 1, showcasing a new release window. Following discussions with the development team, Accidental Studio, a mutual decision has been reached to postpone the release of Subliminal: Episode 1 to March 2026, allowing for additional development time. Although the game is currently feature complete and fully playable, the extension is deemed necessary to focus on aspects such as localization, quality assurance testing, and optimization.

In a joint statement, Gone-Shootin and InfiniFun expressed, “Our development team, Accidental Studios, has achieved a significant milestone by completing all features and ensuring the game is playable from start to finish. As we prepare for a global launch, our thorough review has identified the need for extended quality assurance, localization, performance optimization, and launch planning. This has led to the decision to target a release window of March 2026 for Subliminal: Episode 1. The extra time will be dedicated to refining, testing, and ensuring a seamless launch, in alignment with our commitment to quality and a successful debut.”

Subliminal is a gripping psychological horror game that challenges players to solve puzzles through changing perspectives and lighting, all while confronting terrifying environments. With escalating horrors closing in as time progresses, players are kept on edge throughout the gameplay experience. The game is set to be available on PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series XS, and VR platforms including Steam VR and OpenXR. Subliminal will consist of two episodes, with the release window for the second episode yet to be announced.
