Amazon AI VP departs for CoreWeave; F5 names new tech exec

Heather Parsons is the new head of Fred Hutch’s Breast Oncology Program. Parsons, an associate professor in the Clinical Research Division, will continue treating patients and researching new ways to test for cancer in blood.

  • Jingyi Jessica Li is the new head of the center’s Biostatistics Program and the inaugural recipient of the Donald and Janet K. Guthrie Endowed Chair in Statistics. Li is studying data-intensive research methods for cures and improved care for patients with cancer and infectious disease.
  • Dr. Shailender Bhatia is the inaugural recipient of the Lyn and Daniel Lerner Endowed Chair in Merkel Cell Carcinoma. Bhatia is interested in immunotherapy to reduce disease recurrence and discover treatments.
  • Dr. Raya Khanin is the new head of the center’s Computational Biology Program and the inaugural recipient of the Adele and Daniel Kubik Endowed Chair in Computational Biology. Khanin’s work focuses on identifying genetic causes of cancer and developing personalized treatments.
  • Elizabeth Swisher Receives the Torkelson Family Endowed Chair

    Dr. Elizabeth Swisher, a prominent figure in the field of gynecologic oncology, holds leadership positions at Fred Hutch and serves as the deputy director of the Fred Hutch/University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium. Recently, she was honored as the first recipient of the prestigious Torkelson Family Endowed Chair.
