The Pixel 10 Pro: Illuminating Displays, Enhanced Power, and Qi2 Charging Technology

Google Unveils Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL at Made by Google Event
After months of speculation, Google has officially launched its highly anticipated Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL at the Made by Google event. These flagship devices come with significant upgrades over the Pixel 9 Pro, including the introduction of Pixelsnap technology. This innovation supports Google’s new Qi2-compatible chargers, which magnetically align to the back of the phone, offering faster wireless charging speeds. The addition of Pixelsnap opens up a new world of accessories that can easily attach to the back of the Pixel devices.
Known for their exceptional camera capabilities, Google’s new Pixel phones uphold this reputation. Both models feature a triple rear camera system with a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens with macro capabilities, and an “upgraded” 48MP 5x telephoto lens. While details about the telephoto camera upgrade are scarce, the inclusion of ProRes support caters to serious photo editors.
The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL sport Super Actua displays with variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. These displays offer exceptional brightness levels, with peak brightness reaching up to 3,300 nits or 2,200 nits in HDR, surpassing the previous generation’s capabilities.
Both models come equipped with their largest batteries to date, promising over 30 hours of battery life, a significant improvement from the previous generation. The Pixel 10 Pro supports 30W fast charging, while the Pro XL supports 45W. Additionally, the 10 Pro XL introduces Qi2.2 support with 25W wireless charging, while the standard 10 Pro is limited to 15W wireless charging. Both devices will be available with 16GB of RAM.
Powered by the Google Tensor G5 chip, the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL offer new AI features across the entire Pixel 10 lineup. Notable features include Magic Cue, which provides relevant information to users at the right moment, and Camera Coach, an AI-powered tool that assists users in capturing better photographs by suggesting optimal angles and lighting.
Available in four color options – Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian – both Pixel 10 Pro models are competitively priced. The Pixel 10 Pro starts at $999 for the 128GB variant, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL is priced at $1,199 for the 256GB model, doubling the storage capacity of its predecessor. Pre-orders for the new Pixel Pro line are now open, with the devices set to hit shelves on August 28.
