Gallup Workforce shows details of AI adoption in US workplaces

Understanding Employee Awareness of AI Adoption in the Workplace

According to data from Gallup, a significant number of workers are unsure whether their employers have adopted artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In fact, nearly a quarter of those surveyed were unable to confirm whether AI had been implemented in their organization. As of the third quarter of 2025, just over one-third of employees reported that their workplace had integrated AI, while 40% stated that no AI adoption had taken place.

Interestingly, earlier versions of Gallup surveys did not provide a “don’t know” option for questions regarding AI adoption, leading respondents to make educated guesses. The belief in organizational AI adoption saw a notable increase between 2024 and 2025 once uncertainty was explicitly acknowledged. This shift in perception revealed that a considerable number of employees were simply uninformed about their organization’s AI initiatives.

Notably, employees in non-managerial positions were more likely to express unawareness of their company’s utilization of AI technology. This trend was also observed among part-time staff and individuals in hands-on roles. It appears that the further employees are from decision-making processes, the less they are certain about the presence of AI in their workplace.
