Adobe’s Project Indigo Faces Delay in iPhone 17 Support Due to Camera Issues

The recent release of the iPhone 17 series has left some users disappointed as Adobe’s camera app, Project Indigo, still does not support the latest iPhones. While it can be used on an iPhone 12 Pro, users with the iPhone 17 Pro are unable to utilize the app due to issues with the new selfie camera. Adobe’s forum post highlights this problem, indicating that support for the selfie camera may not be available immediately.

Boris Ajdin, the product manager, has been keeping eager fans updated on Project Indigo’s progress. In a recent post on October 16th, he mentioned the challenges faced in providing support for the iPhone 17. According to Ajdin, issues with the front camera have been flagged to Apple, who will address them in the upcoming iOS 26.1 update. This means that the front camera functionality in Indigo may be disabled until the new iOS version is released.

Despite hopes of a quick update, more time was required to resolve the camera issues. Ajdin mentioned in a recent thread that they are aiming to release an update within the week. For further details on the challenges posed by the selfie camera, Adobe spokesperson Erin Di Leva directed inquiries to the forum posts.

Project Indigo, known for its natural processing capabilities, gained popularity upon its debut. Developed by a team led by Marc Levoy, who has experience with Google Pixel’s camera technology, the app offers a unique approach to smartphone photography. While currently only available on iOS, Android users are eagerly awaiting support. According to Levoy, support for Android is in the works but presents its own set of challenges. It seems that iPhone 17 users may receive Indigo support before Android users.
