The Shocking FBI Bust of a $13 Million Mercedes CLK-GTR Roadster: Uncovering the Truth
Rare 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Roadster Seized by FBI
One of the rarest supercars in the world, the 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Roadster, with only six units ever built, has made headlines after being seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). These stunning images of the car have been released by the FBI, shedding light on its intriguing backstory.
The CLK-GTR Roadster, valued at around $13 million, was not up for sale but was confiscated by the FBI from Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic athlete who had turned into a fugitive. The agency alleges that Wedding was involved in a global drug and money-laundering operation, smuggling “tons of cocaine” into the United States.
Once a representative of Canada in the 2002 Olympics, Wedding found himself on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, with a staggering $15 million reward for his capture.
During a recent raid, the FBI seized numerous assets owned by Wedding, including the coveted CLK-GTR Roadster. If convicted, Wedding may face the forfeiture of his assets, potentially leading to the sale of the car at a government auction.

The CLK-GTR Roadster, a special homologation model based on the CLK-GTR Le Mans race car, is equipped with a robust 6.9-liter V12 engine generating 604 horsepower and 572 lb-ft of torque. It boasts a 6-speed sequential manual transmission for an exhilarating driving experience.
