Review of The Traitors Series 3: A Cloak of Betrayal

Series 3 of The Traitors was a mixed bag of emotions, with moments of brilliance overshadowed by setbacks that hindered the overall experience. While there were standout performances like Alexander singing opera and Lisa the priest, the lack of teamwork among the group and format changes that compromised the mystery aspect held the season back.

One of the highlights of the season was the sisterhood of Traitors, with all women donning cloaks except for the sacrificial lamb, Freddie. Minah’s leadership was commendable, especially in protecting Linda, who was arguably one of the most comically inept Traitors in the show’s history.

Linda’s antics provided entertaining TV moments, from her initial defiance at the round table to her confrontations with other players. Despite her theatrical displays, she managed to survive multiple banishments due to the Faithful’s cluelessness.

However, the tide turned when Charlotte, with her deceptive Welsh accent, joined the Traitors and orchestrated Minah’s downfall, creating a perfect alibi for herself. The introduction of the ‘Seer’ rule added a new layer of complexity, leading to a showdown between Charlotte and Frankie.

As suspicions rose and trust faltered, the finale took an unexpected turn as both Charlotte and Frankie were banished, paving the way for Jake and Leanne to emerge as the eventual winners. The decision to eliminate Alexander raised questions of ulterior motives, adding a personal and vindictive tone to the game.

Amidst the drama, the season ended on a somber note, with tensions running high and alliances fracturing. Kindhearted players like Kas felt marginalized, and emotional manipulation tactics clouded the final moments of the game.
