The Ultimate Luxury: Unveiling the Fully Loaded BMW ALPINA 7 Series
The Future of BMW’s Sedans: A Look Into ALPINA’s Revival
In a world increasingly dominated by SUVs, the era of traditional sedans seems to be fading. However, BMW is staying true to its roots by introducing new models that cater to sedan enthusiasts. The upcoming lineup includes a new 3 Series and an electric i3 with a trunk, as well as a refreshed 7 Series set to debut in 2026. Notably, ALPINA, known for its luxurious and performance-focused vehicles, is making a comeback with its take on BMW’s flagship sedan.
According to recent reports, the ALPINA version of the 7 Series, codenamed G72, will offer a fully optioned G70 experience with a focus on luxury rather than performance. This aligns with ALPINA’s legacy of crafting grand tourers designed for comfortable long-distance driving. The ALPINA 7 Series is expected to feature unique design elements, bespoke interior details, and upgraded trim.
While production of the facelifted G70 will commence in July 2026, the ALPINA variant is scheduled to roll off the line in mid-2027. The new model will offer inline-six, V8, and electric powertrains, badged as 740, 760, and i7 70, all equipped with xDrive as standard.
Despite the delayed release, the ALPINA 7 Series is expected to bridge the gap between BMW’s lineup and Rolls-Royce in terms of pricing and luxury. The model is anticipated to be positioned below the Rolls-Royce Ghost but above BMW’s offerings, catering to discerning customers seeking a premium driving experience.
With a rich history in crafting high-end vehicles, ALPINA aims to redefine luxury within BMW’s lineup, drawing parallels to Maybach’s relationship with Mercedes-Benz. The brand’s future plans include pampering the next-generation X7 in 2027, solidifying its position in the luxury vehicle market.
Overall, ALPINA’s resurgence signifies a shift towards elevated luxury and performance within BMW’s sedan range, offering a compelling alternative for enthusiasts seeking a blend of comfort and sophistication.
