The Ultimate Samsung Galaxy S26: Unleashing the Power of the Ultra
Considering a new purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S26 in the upcoming weeks? Rumors suggest that there is only one model that truly stands out, and it’s worth getting excited about.
Samsung has sent out invitations to its next Unpacked event on 25 February, but at this point, there’s not much to unpack. Thanks to numerous leaks and rumors from reliable sources, we already have a good idea of what to expect at the event in San Francisco.
If you want to stay updated on all the latest Samsung Galaxy S26 rumors, you can check out our comprehensive roundup. I won’t delve into all the specifications here.
Instead, I’ll provide a concise TL;DR: unless there are any surprises, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra seems to be the most interesting model.

Nothing New for the Standard Models
While the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to be solid phones, the upgrades from their predecessors are minimal. If you’re upgrading from a phone that’s two years old or older, you’ll likely be satisfied with either model. However, in terms of significant improvements from the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, there isn’t much to be excited about.
Both models are rumored to feature a new Exynos 2600 processor (or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the US), slightly larger screens (6.3-inch), and batteries (4300mAh) in the standard Galaxy S26. These seem to be the main updates.
Contrary to predictions, it appears that the anticipated Qi2 magnetic wireless charging upgrade won’t be included. Even the Google Pixel 10 series, known for minimal changes, introduced this feature.

The Spotlight on the Ultra Model
If you’re seeking significant advancements in this year’s Galaxy S26 lineup, the Ultra model is likely where you’ll find them.
Rumors suggest exciting new features for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, including a Privacy Screen that can hide sensitive content unless viewed directly. This innovative technology offers enhanced security benefits in a controlled manner.
Additionally, the S26 Ultra is said to receive improved Color-filter-on-thin-film-encapsulation (CoE) technology, enhancing the screen’s brightness and efficiency.

The S26 Ultra is also rumored to feature a redesigned, slimmer (7.9mm) and lighter (214g) body. This could be appealing to those who have previously avoided the Ultra model due to its bulkiness.
Moreover, the premium model may receive faster 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging.
Interestingly, the baseline Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might be the only variant without a price increase this year. With limited upgrades in the rest of the S26 lineup, this presents a strong reason to focus on the Ultra model.
Reports suggest that Samsung is emphasizing the Ultra model, producing significantly fewer units of the S26 and S26+ compared to the Ultra.
