When considering purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S26 in the upcoming weeks, there is one model that stands out above the rest. Thanks to numerous leaks and rumors, the details of the company’s big San Francisco event were already well known.

No Surprises Here
The Samsung Galaxy S26 and Samsung Galaxy S26+ are solid choices for those upgrading from older devices. However, when compared to their predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, there are minimal improvements to get excited about.
In the UK, both models will feature a new Exynos 2600 processor. The standard Galaxy S26 will have a slightly larger screen (6.3-inch, up from 6.2-inch) and battery (4300mAh, up from 4000mAh). Other than that, there are not many significant changes.
The predicted Qi2 magnetic wireless charging upgrade did not materialize. Even the Google Pixel 10 series, not known for groundbreaking features, included this particular upgrade.

Focus on the Ultra
If you’re seeking real innovation in this year’s Galaxy S26 lineup, the Ultra model is where you should look. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a new Privacy Screen feature that can obscure sensitive content unless viewed directly. This anti-snooping technology could provide significant security benefits by selectively hiding notifications, rather than blocking them entirely.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra features a redesigned, slimmer (7.9mm) and lighter (214g) body. This change is particularly appealing to those who previously found the Ultra model too bulky. Additionally, the premium model offers faster wired and wireless charging.
Moreover, the baseline price of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has only increased by £30 in the UK, whereas other models have experienced larger price hikes. With limited production of the standard S26 models and a focus on the Ultra, Samsung is clearly emphasizing the Ultra as the standout choice.
