2026 Toyota HiLux price and specs

The 2026 Toyota HiLux has recently hit the market with a range of updates and new features. Deliveries have begun, providing more information on fuel consumption, towing capacity, and payload figures that were not available when the article was first published in November 2025.

The latest HiLux model officially went on sale on December 9, 2025, offering a refreshed exterior, new cabin design, and now only one diesel powertrain option. The lineup includes the return of the Rogue and Rugged X models, with the possibility of a GR Sport version to compete with the Ford Ranger Raptor in the future.

The new HiLux retains the same ladder-frame chassis as its predecessor, maintaining similar dimensions. The exterior features a redesigned front and rear, with thinner LED headlights, a new grille, and sharper lines. The rear of the vehicle now includes new tail-lights and an integrated step behind the rear wheel on pickup variants. Additional cosmetic changes include updated colors and wheel patterns.

The interior of the HiLux has also undergone a complete redesign, incorporating new technology and redesigned seats for a more comfortable driving experience.

The standard engine for the 2026 HiLux is a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder, replacing the previous 2.4-liter diesel and 2.7-liter petrol options. The vehicle offers both manual and automatic transmission options, with the automatic transmission models equipped with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.

Toyota has announced pricing for the diesel HiLux across five model grades in cab/chassis and dual-cab ute body styles. Prices start at $33,990 for the base WorkMate model and go up to $71,990 for the top-end Rogue and Rugged X models.

In terms of drivetrains and efficiency, all 2026 HiLux models are powered by the 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine, offering 150kW/420Nm for manual versions and 150kW/500Nm for automatic versions. The vehicle is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.

Safety features included in the HiLux lineup vary depending on the trim level, with the base WorkMate model offering blind-spot monitoring, reversing camera, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. Higher trim levels add additional safety features such as surround-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and downhill assist control.

The HiLux comes with a five-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty covering Toyota-produced parts and accessories. Extended warranties for the engine and driveline are available, provided the vehicle is serviced according to schedule.

Overall, the 2026 Toyota HiLux offers a range of new features and updates, making it a competitive option in the pickup truck market. With its refreshed design, advanced technology, and improved safety features, the HiLux is set to continue its legacy as a reliable and versatile vehicle.
