Track Your Possessions with a Free Daruma AirTag for iPhone
Japanese New Year celebrations are a significant event, especially in the retail sector. Apple is participating in the festivities by offering special promotions to customers purchasing a new iPhone during the “Hatsuuri” sales period. In addition to the traditional gift card promotions, Apple is also including a specially engraved AirTag with iPhone purchases.
This unique twist in promotion is not commonly seen in other countries. While the gift card values in Japan are similar to those offered during Black Friday, customers can also receive a special AirTag when purchasing specific iPhone models. The latest iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models are not eligible for gift cards or the AirTag promotion, indicating a focus on clearing out older stock.
Customers buying the iPhone 16 models will receive a gift card ranging from 8,000 to 12,000 Yen and an AirTag featuring an engraving of Daruma, a symbol of good luck and perseverance in Japanese culture. The AirTag offer is limited edition with only 65,000 units available, adding an element of exclusivity to the promotion.
While the AirTag is exclusive to iPhone purchases, other Apple products are eligible for gift card offers of equivalent value in Yen. The promotion also includes flagship MacBook Pro models and a range of other Apple products, aligning with the Black Friday offers in the US.
Apple’s limited-edition AirTag promotions in Japan have been a recurring theme, with each year featuring a unique design. This year’s AirTag celebrates the New Year with a Daruma engraving, reflecting the tradition of “Hatsumode” New Year’s visits.
The Hatsuuri event runs from January 2 to January 5, allowing customers to take advantage of the promotions during this period. To receive the special AirTag, customers must purchase an eligible iPhone directly from Apple in Japan through various channels.
In addition to the Japanese promotions, Apple has also offered special edition AirPods for Lunar New Year celebrations in China and other Asian countries. The company continues to innovate with themed products, keeping customers engaged and excited about new releases.
