The Perfect Shot: Daniel Gale Wins BMW M5 Touring at Australian PGA Championship

During the BMW Australian PGA Championship at the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane, local golfer Daniel Gale had a remarkable day on the course. The 29-year-old pro golfer achieved a Hole-in-One on the 11th hole, winning the coveted prize of an M5 Touring from BMW.

Gale, a three-time winner on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia, kicked off the DP World Tour season in style with his impressive performance. Prior to his winning shot, he exuded confidence, declaring, “this baby’s mine,” before using an 8-iron to ace the 154-meter hole.

BMW, as the title partner of the PGA Australian Championship for the second year, offered a grand prize valued at 204,976 AUD, which is the base price of the M5 Touring. However, additional costs such as luxury car tax and goods and services tax bring the total price to 281,949 AUD.

The M5 Touring won by Gale came in M Marina Bay Blue Metallic with black 951 M wheels and red brake calipers. It did not include the optional M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, which would have added 14,231 AUD to the final cost. An Individual color choice would have incurred an 8,846 AUD premium.

BMW has a tradition of awarding cars as hole-in-one prizes, with past winners receiving models such as the i4, 7 Series, i8 Coupe, i8 Roadster, and M760Li xDrive. In Australia, lucky participants also have the chance to win the M3 Touring, starting at 148,441 AUD before additional taxes and fees.

Overall, Gale’s impressive victory at the Australian PGA Championship not only showcased his golfing prowess but also rewarded him with a high-performance luxury car. The event continues to be a thrilling spectacle for both players and spectators, thanks to partnerships like the one between BMW and the PGA.
