The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Breaks Records as the Fastest American Production Car

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has officially claimed the title of the quickest American production car currently available on the market. Not only is it incredibly fast, but it also holds the title of being the fastest car over a quarter-mile distance that is priced below a million dollars.

Setting a new benchmark for sub-$1 million cars, the Corvette ZR1X completed the quarter mile in an impressive 8.675 seconds, reaching a speed of 159 mph. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by the Lucid Air Sapphire, which completed the same distance in 8.95 seconds at 158 mph.

One of the standout features of the ZR1X is its exceptional acceleration. It clocked an impressive 0-60 mph time of just 1.68 seconds, outperforming the Lucid Air by 0.21 seconds.

The record-breaking ZR1X used for the impressive run was equipped with the standard aero package, carbon fiber wheels, and Michelin PS4S tires. The surface was meticulously prepped to ensure optimal performance.

The Corvette ZR1X stands out as the most extreme iteration of the current-generation Corvette lineup. It is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, augmented by an electric motor, delivering a total power output of 1,250 horsepower, distributed to all four wheels.
