Claude Code comes to web and mobile, letting devs launch parallel jobs on Anthropic’s managed infra

The landscape of Vibe coding is constantly evolving, bringing forth cutting-edge AI-powered coding services and tools like Anthropic’s Claude Code. This service is now accessible through the web and is also available in preview on the Claude iOS app, offering developers additional asynchronous capabilities.

Previously, developers could access Claude Code through their PCs using the terminal, with support for various tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, npm, pip, AWS CLI, and more. It also functioned as an extension for Microsoft’s VS Code editor and other JetBrains-powered IDEs through Claude Agent.

According to Anthropic, the web version of Claude Code allows users to initiate coding sessions without the need to open their terminal. By connecting GitHub repositories and specifying requirements, Claude takes care of the implementation. Each session operates in its own isolated environment with real-time progress monitoring, offering users the flexibility to adjust the course of action as needed.

This capability enables users to work on coding projects asynchronously, catering to the growing demand in the enterprise sector.

While the web version of Claude Code is currently in a research preview phase for Pro and Max users, it is subject to the same rate limits as other versions. Anthropic had to impose throttled rate limits on Claude and Claude Code following the unexpected surge in popularity in July.

Anthropic is striving to enhance the availability of Claude Code to match that of OpenAI’s Codex AI coding platform, powered by GPT-5, which was launched on mobile and web platforms in mid-September 2025.

Parallel Usage

Running Claude Code in the cloud enables teams to manage multiple tasks simultaneously across different repositories from a unified interface, facilitating faster delivery through automatic PR creation and clear change summaries.

Coding agents like Google’s Jules and Code Assist, as well as OpenAI’s Codex, offer asynchronous code generation and checks, allowing developers to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Anthropic assures that transitioning Claude Code to the web will not disrupt workflows, highlighting the benefits of cloud-based operations for tasks such as bug fixes, routine tasks, and backend alterations.

While desktop usage remains prevalent, Anthropic anticipates that the mobile version of Claude Code will encourage more users to engage in coding activities on the go.

Isolated Environments

Anthropic emphasizes that Claude Code tasks in the cloud maintain the same level of security as the previous version, operating within an isolated sandbox environment with network and filesystem restrictions.

Interactions are secured through a proxy service to ensure that the model only accesses authorized repositories. Enterprise users have the flexibility to customize the domains that Claude Code can connect to.

Claude Code is powered by Claude Sonnet 4.5, renowned for its coding capabilities. Additionally, Anthropic has introduced Claude Haiku 4.5, a compact version with strong coding features, making it accessible to all Claude subscribers, including free users.
