The Benefits of Prestiging in Arc Raiders

Many online shooters with leveling systems eventually reach a point where players can no longer progress. To combat this issue, games often offer a prestige system, allowing players to reset their levels and start anew. Arc Raiders, developed by Embark, is introducing a similar system called the Expedition Project, which offers unique rewards and advantages for players who choose to prestige.

The Expedition Project in Arc Raiders will commence on December 17th and run for a six-day period until the 22nd. Players who have reached level 20 can opt to leave The Rust Belt and start afresh with a new character, complete with various buffs and advantages.

When embarking on an Expedition, players can contribute items from their stash, with every one million coins’ worth of value earning them an additional skill point for their new raider. Players can earn up to five skill points in total through this system. However, restarting with a new raider will reset their skill tree, level, stash, workshop, crafting abilities, and blueprints, although they won’t have to repeat the initial onboarding process.

Prestiging in Arc Raiders also unlocks permanent bonuses, such as the Patchwork Raider outfit, Scrappy Janitor Cap, Expeditions Indicator icon, and +12 stash space. Additionally, players receive temporary buffs like a 10% repair buff, 5% XP boost, and 6% more materials from Scrappy. It’s important to note that account buffs will expire if players choose not to depart on subsequent expeditions, with buffs increasing in power for the next three expeditions.

Embark has chosen to make the Expedition Project optional to address issues that arise with mandatory wipes, respecting players’ time investment in the game. This approach gives players the freedom to choose whether to continue progressing or start anew.
