Unveiling Google Gemini: Delving into Your Emails, Drive, and Chats
Gemini’s New Feature Allows Deep Research Using Emails and Documents
Gemini users can now leverage their emails and documents for in-depth research purposes. This new capability, referred to as “deep research” by Google, has been highly requested by users. It is specifically designed for creating comprehensive research reports rather than just providing answers to queries.
Google recently announced the integration of Deep Research with Workspace products, enabling users to initiate market analysis or competitor reports seamlessly.
Deep Research can now analyze brainstorming documents, email threads, and project plans to kickstart a market analysis for a new product. It can also generate competitor reports by cross-referencing public web data with internal strategies, comparison spreadsheets, and team communications.
Users can select the “deep research” option on Gemini’s prompt bar and choose from four available sources: Google Search, Gmail, Drive, and Chat. This means that information from Gmail emails, Drive documents, and Google Chat conversations can provide valuable context for Gemini’s AI model.
Currently, this feature is only available on desktop, but Google has announced plans to roll it out to mobile devices in the near future.
