Unveiling OnePlus OxygenOS 16: Elevating Your Phone with 7 Exciting Features

The deployment of Android 16 is currently in progress.
Most Google Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 onwards have already received the update, with many other Android phone manufacturers also rolling out their versions.
OnePlus is next in line, known for its OxygenOS skin that offers smooth performance, extensive customization, and robust privacy controls. OxygenOS 16 from OnePlus continues to emphasize AI, introducing new functionality that sets it apart from others.
There are seven new features in OxygenOS 16 that users can explore in detail. Owners of recent OnePlus phones will receive these features through a free update soon.
A Gemini-powered second brain
OnePlus introduced Plus Mind in May, a portal that uses AI to analyze and organize information captured by users. OxygenOS 16 enhances this feature by supporting audio capture via the Plus Key on compatible phones. It also allows importing screenshots and automatically grouping similar content into Collections. The integration of Gemini allows Google’s AI assistant to provide personalized responses based on the captured content.
Bring text to life
AI Writer on OnePlus phones can generate image captions, write in various tones, and summarize written content. Additionally, it can create visual mind maps and tables from text, simplifying information organization.
The perfect document scanner?
OnePlus introduces AI Scan, a feature that enhances document scanning by correcting angles, removing shadows, and reducing glare. This feature ensures that scanned documents appear professional and polished.
Audio recordings that are actually useful
AI Recorder on OnePlus phones offers transcription with speaker identification, summaries with key points, and AI Clear Voice for noise reduction in recordings. These automated features improve the audio recording experience on OnePlus devices.
Give low-light portraits a boost
AI Portrait Glow on OnePlus phones focuses on enhancing skin tones in low-light portraits. It uses AI to ensure accurate portrayal of individuals, even in group photos, and offers the option to add artificial light for better results.
A blatant Best Take copy
OnePlus’ AI Perfect Shot is similar to Google’s Best Take, allowing users to swap faces after taking group photos. While the process is manual on OnePlus devices, it aims to improve the overall photo quality.
OxygenOS 16 features an AI PlayLab with experimental options like Party Up and YumSee. Party Up creates AI-generated videos from still images, while YumSee assists in translating and visualizing menus for easier decision-making.
Which OnePlus phones will get OxygenOS 16?
OnePlus has confirmed that the following devices will be compatible with OxygenOS 16:
While the rollout may take some time, OnePlus users can expect to receive the update gradually. For users with older devices, patience may be required.
