XFA Secures €1.5 Million Funding to Revolutionize Workplace Cybersecurity
XFA Raises €1.5 Million in Seed Round to Enhance Cybersecurity Platform
Antwerp-based cybersecurity firm XFA recently announced the successful closure of its €1.5 million Seed round aimed at expanding its platform and establishing a safety net for the modern workplace, characterized by hybrid setups and AI integration.
The funding round was spearheaded by ScaleFund from Belgium and Curiosity from the Netherlands, with support from previous investors PMV and Seeder Fund, alongside seasoned entrepreneurs affiliated with Investee.
This financial injection will enable XFA to broaden its platform capabilities and leverage cutting-edge advancements in cryptography and AI to bolster its cybersecurity offerings.
“In our professional journeys, we consistently encountered a common challenge: despite significant investments by IT teams in device control measures, a large portion of devices remained unmanaged and exposed to vulnerabilities,” noted Lars Veelaert, CEO and co-founder of XFA.
“Our technology excels in identifying every device, guiding users through essential security updates, and validating security protocols without necessitating device management or prior knowledge of the device,” added Gijs Van Laer, CTO and co-founder of XFA.
Established in 2023 by Lars Veelaert, a former cybersecurity consultant, and Gijs Van Laer, a cryptography Ph.D. holder from Johns Hopkins University, XFA boasts a revolutionary technology capable of assessing the security posture of any device during login, without intrusive management software or prior device information.
The company’s unique approach addresses the shortcomings of traditional device security methods reliant on management software, which are increasingly incompatible with today’s dynamic work environments.
XFA’s innovative solution, which prioritizes user privacy, promptly detects and verifies the security status of every work-related device upon login, ensuring comprehensive protection.
With a quick organization-wide deployment process that requires just 15 minutes for setup, XFA empowers businesses to achieve comprehensive device security coverage within a few weeks.
“The landscape of cybersecurity is undergoing a significant transformation. With the proliferation of remote work, BYOD trends, and the prevalence of flexible talent arrangements, traditional security practices are no longer sufficient. What businesses need is a straightforward and reliable method to assess device trustworthiness upon connection. We invested in XFA due to the founders’ profound understanding of this paradigm shift and their commitment to developing scalable cybersecurity solutions,” emphasized Lisa Brouwer, Principal at Curiosity.
XFA collaborates with automated compliance platforms like Vanta to streamline the evidence collection process for certifications such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIS2. The company serves clients across Europe, North America, and Asia.
