TestDevLab Acquired by Xoriant: A Strategic Move in Software Quality Engineering

TestDevLab, a leading Latvian software quality engineering scale-up, has recently announced its acquisition by Xoriant, a global engineering and technology services company based in the US and owned by ChrysCapital. This strategic partnership aims to combine TestDevLab’s 14 years of testing expertise with Xoriant’s broader engineering capabilities and extensive international presence spanning 28 offices across the USA, Europe, and Asia.

Co-founder and Co-CEO of TestDevLab, Ervins Grīnfelds, expressed, “This acquisition was carefully considered, taking into account the benefits for our team and clients. TestDevLab sought to expand its global reach, while Xoriant aimed to enhance its quality engineering capabilities. The alignment between the two companies made this acquisition a natural progression for both parties.”

The software-testing and quality-assurance landscape in Europe in 2025 has witnessed a notable influx of investment. Companies like UK-based Synthesized and Germany’s CERPRO have secured significant funding to advance their AI-native test-infrastructure and industrial QA workflows, respectively. While these companies are not from Latvia or the Baltics, their success reflects a broader trend of ongoing investment in testing, verification, and AI-enhanced QA capabilities.

The acquisition of TestDevLab by Xoriant represents a consolidation-driven development within the industry. This move positions the Latvian firm alongside a larger trend where established QA providers are being integrated into larger engineering groups to deepen expertise in automation, model-validation, and safety-focused testing.

Founded in 2011, TestDevLab offers a range of software testing and QA services, including test automation, performance testing, security testing, and UX testing. The company has built a strong reputation for its expertise in software quality engineering and serves clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

With 500 professionals across Europe, primarily in the Baltics and North Macedonia, TestDevLab tests products used by over five billion people daily. Co-founders Andrejs Frišfelds and Ervins Grīnfelds will continue to serve as co-CEOs, ensuring continuity for existing clients and project teams.
