2026 Zeekr 7X orders exceed 2500 as first deliveries commence

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle brand, celebrated its first year of operations in Australia with a special handover ceremony at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP). Over 100 customers drove away in their new Zeekr 7X at the event.

The Zeekr 7X is the latest addition to the brand’s lineup in Australia, joining the Zeekr X small SUV and the Zeekr 009 people mover. It has quickly become a direct competitor to other mid-size electric SUVs in the market, such as the Tesla Model Y.

With over 2500 pre-orders before local deliveries began, the 7X has already garnered significant interest from consumers. Zeekr received the first 1000 deposits within seven days of opening orders, even before test drives started.

The handover event at SMP was tailored for New South Wales customers, but Zeekr is working to ensure all launch customers receive their vehicles by the end of 2025. The brand, founded in 2021 and now majority-owned by Geely Holding Group, reported that 74% of 7X buyers in Australia are new to EVs.

According to Zeekr, the strong demand for the 7X highlights a growing consumer preference for fast-charging EVs with advanced battery technology. The most popular color for the 7X appears to be green, and the dual-motor Performance All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model has attracted the most orders so far.

Priced at $72,900 before on-road costs, the 7X can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Its 800V electrical architecture allows for quick DC fast-charging, with the battery reaching 10-80% capacity in just 16 minutes.

The Zeekr X range starts at $57,900 for the entry-level variant, offering a 480km range and fast charging in 13 minutes. The mid-spec Long Range RWD variant, priced at $63,900, boasts a driving range of up to 615km.

Frank Li, Zeekr International vice president and Zeekr Australia managing director, emphasized the significance of customers receiving their Zeekr 7X vehicles. He highlighted the shared excitement and community that has formed around the brand’s vision for the future.

With 12 dealers nationwide and 730 vehicles sold as of September, Zeekr Australia has made significant progress in the Australian EV market. The brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is evident in its growing customer base and product offerings.
