Amazon has once again raised the bar on delivery times with the introduction of one-hour and three-hour delivery options. This new service is available for over 90,000 products and is now offered in cities and towns across the United States.

While the quicker delivery options come at a price, with Prime members paying $9.99 for one-hour delivery and $4.99 for three-hour delivery, non-Prime members will pay $19.99 and $14.99, respectively.

This latest offering adds to Amazon’s array of delivery options, including same-day and next-day delivery for Prime members. The company began testing Amazon Now in December, providing delivery in 30 minutes or less for household essentials and groceries in select locations.

Eligible items for one-hour and three-hour delivery will be clearly marked on the Amazon app and website. Customers can also use search filters for “in 1 hour” or “in 3 hours” and visit a dedicated storefront shopping page in available areas.

Amazon attributes the faster delivery speeds to its existing same-day delivery sites, which it refers to as “highly efficient hubs.” Leveraging predictive AI inventory algorithms has streamlined the order fulfillment process, resulting in quicker delivery times.

In 2025, Amazon achieved record delivery speeds for the third consecutive year, with over 13 billion items arriving the same or next day globally.

Competing in the fast delivery race, Walmart offers its one-hour Express Delivery for $10 and aims to reach 95% of U.S. households within three hours. Target is also expanding its same-day delivery options, with significant year-over-year growth in same-day shipping.

Amazon’s commitment to improving delivery extends to rural areas, with a $4 billion investment by the end of 2026 to enhance shipping times for smaller towns across the U.S.

For those interested in Prime membership, the cost is $14.99 per month or $139 per year.
