According to Apple, these features will be gradually rolled out globally in the coming weeks.

Play Full Song and Listening Party have been designed to not only benefit users but also ensure fair compensation for artists. By leveraging Apple’s MusicKit, full-length song playback will now result in streams being paid within the Apple Music service, providing a win-win situation for both users and musicians.

When browsing through their For You or Sound Detail pages on TikTok, users can now simply tap the Play Full Song button to open an Apple Music player. This allows subscribers to enjoy the entire track and discover a personalized stream of recommended songs. Additionally, users can seamlessly add music from TikTok to their Apple Music playlists, similar to existing integrations with Spotify and SoundCloud.

Ole Obermann from Apple Music expressed, “Tapping into the music you love should feel effortless.” With Play Full Song, Apple Music subscribers can seamlessly transition from discovering a track on TikTok to listening to it in full without any interruptions, maintaining the seamless flow of music exploration.

Listening Party, a variation of the Play Full Song feature, enables multiple TikTok users to listen to music simultaneously. This innovative feature aims to bring artists and their fans closer together by creating a shared Apple Music environment within TikTok. Here, fans can enjoy songs from their favorite artists, interact with each other in real-time, and even engage directly with the artist.

While TikTok has collaborated with other music streaming platforms in the past, the partnership with Apple Music appears to be one of the most comprehensive.
